Documentary, Egypt
My grandmother’s apartment in Cairo used to overlook a garden. Then, overnight, without notice - it was demolished. It’s part of a pattern. In the last ten years, the current Egyptian regime has seized the city from the people. In this reported story, I try to answer the simple question: what happened to my grandmother’s garden, and why, and find a much bigger political and economic story about the state of life and fear in Egypt.
